Amit is a third-year undergraduate student studying Urban Studies and Statistics at UC Berkeley. He is interested in equitable downtown revitalization strategies and how statistical analyses can be used to refine urban planning practices and policies. At Berkeley, Amit is also a part of Sustainable Housing at California, a student-run club that designs and constructs affordable, green homes for local families. In his spare time, Amit enjoys playing soccer, reading magical realism novels, and attempting to cook new foods.
The project aims to understand the nature of gentrification, and displacement, and exclusion in American cities. It focuses on creating tools to help communities identify the pressures surrounding them and take more effective action.
