Jaime Albrecht

Researcher

Jamie Albrecht graduated from the Master of City Planning program at UC Berkeley in 2019. While her focus is on building climate resiliency and social infrastructure, she also cares deeply about issues of gentrification and displacement around the world. She currently works for the City of Berkeley’s Office of Emergency Services and co-wrote their 2019 Local Hazard Mitigation Plan. Before graduate school, she was a lifelong public servant in the federal government, where she helped bring human-centered design principles and practices to agencies like the White House, the National Institute of Health, the Department of the Interior, and NASA. Before that, she was a Peace Corps volunteer in El Salvador. She learned a lot in El Salvador, including how to make cheese.
