Jessie Jaeger is a third year Master in Public Health (MPH) and Master in City Planning (MCP) dual degree student at UC Berkeley pursuing a concentration in Environmental Health Sciences, Environmental Planning, and Healthy Cities. Jessie graduated from UCLA in 2014 with a B.S. in Environmental Science, and a minor in Conservation Biology. Domestically, Jessie has conducted research and prepared technical analyses on a wide variety of projects throughout the United States involving the evaluation of environmental conditions, regulatory compliance, and environmental justice issues. Internationally, Jessie has worked with the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health on a multi-country liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) intervention trial on household air pollution and maternal and child health in Puno, Peru. Currently, she is working as a graduate researcher for the Sustainability and Health Equity (S/HE) Lab at UC Berkeley, where she is assessing the impacts of sea level rise on vulnerable coastal communities within the United States.
The project aims to understand the nature of gentrification, and displacement, and exclusion in American cities. It focuses on creating tools to help communities identify the pressures surrounding them and take more effective action.
