Madeleine is in the City and Regional Planning Ph.D. program at UC Berkeley. Her research interests include transportation and housing equity, urban mobility, and climate change adaptation and resilience planning. Madeleine previously worked in affordable housing with New York City government. She has also served as a consultant for the Innovation & Entrepreneurship in Cities team at the World Bank, assisted with sea level rise planning at SPUR, and contributed to recommendations for the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology on equity-focused smart transportation. Madeleine holds a BA in Geography from Dartmouth College and an MPA from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University.
The project aims to understand the nature of gentrification, and displacement, and exclusion in American cities. It focuses on creating tools to help communities identify the pressures surrounding them and take more effective action.
