Maile Munro is a masters candidate in the Department of City and Regional Planning, studying community-driven investments and the role of data in housing development. Maile studied Political Science and English at Guilford College. She spent a year as a Quaker Voluntary Service Fellow, exploring community building rooted in solidarity, equity, and compassion. Before coming back to school, Maile served low-income tenants in Philadelphia, learning from the vibrant nonprofit ecosystem in the region.
The project aims to understand the nature of gentrification, and displacement, and exclusion in American cities. It focuses on creating tools to help communities identify the pressures surrounding them and take more effective action.
